HYBRID LOCOMOTIVES IN A CLASS (18) OF THEIR OWN

Progress update... in build, the first of fifteen Clayton Equipment emission free Hybrid+ CBD90 shunting locomotives for Beacon Rail Leasing is underway.

In the fast-changing environment, the increased demand for lower emissions, new technology and more capacity,  the Clayton Equipment CBD90 will provide environmental benefits and cost savings. The 90 tonne locomotive is self-contained, with on-board batteries that can charged through a three-phase electric supply or on-board Diesel engine which meets EU emission standards.
