50 year old Clayton battery 1.75 tonne locomotive restored
By Jessica Salt on August 11, 2021
Approximately 50 years old now, Clayton battery 1.75 tonne locomotive named 'Hazel' has been lovingly restored back to her former glory by Steeple Grange Light Railway.
Hazel fully equipped with new horns is now ready to commence pulling passenger carriages from this Thursday for the first time. We hope she remains in service for many more years to come.
Steeple Grange Light Railway have also kindly sent photographs of the battery locomotive working to transport liquid concrete to the moulds for casting large pipes.
